Not kings: The three kings aren’t really kings at all! Not three: Did the three kings bring Jesus three gifts? The account does describe three gifts (gold, frankincense, and myrrh). The assumption is that there are then three kings — one for each gift. But that was not necessarily so. Love it. The drama throughout the story and the details. Eden has a personality that I love. I really can't get enough of this book. I hope you enjoy the story. I am not a big fan of the ending, but I have a good feeling the second book will fix it. A Tale of Three Kings looks at the relationships of Saul, David, and Absalom. It is a book that is principally about forgiveness and how it is more important that grudges or revenge. I read this book during a particularly rough time in my life where I felt I had been wronged by someone close to me/5().

I'm planning to introduce Three Kings Day to my boys (2 and ) this January, as it is a tradition my Puerto Rican mother-in-law did with her children.

Although the book doesn't address the holiday per se, it's a great introduction to why we have the holiday. I always did love Tomie DePaola/5(13). It tells the story of the Three Wise Kings who visited Jesus as a young child.

They followed the star, visited Herod, found and showed reverence to the young king, then followed the warning in a dream to return to their countries another way.

I use this book over and over in my classes for Epiphany/5. “Baboushka and the Three Kings” is a Caldecott Medal award winning book written by Ruth Robbins along with illustrations by Nicolas Sidjakov and it is about how an old woman named Baboushka meets up with the three kings who asked her if she would accompanied them to witness the birth of Jesus/5.
